Schools

"Your past is not your potential. In any hour you can choose to liberate the future."
Marilyn Ferguson

Our mentors currently work in over 20 schools across the Stratford district, both Primary and Secondary schools.

Who is mentoring for?

Young people aged 9-19 who are needing to:

  • voice their worries and face problems that hold them back to reduce their distress
  • tap into their talents & strengths in order to achieve more
  • restore relationships
  • make positive, safe and healthy lifestyle choices
  • develop positive coping strategies which promote their resilience
  • extend their knowledge about issues important to them
  • boost their learning, attainment & be more motivated

How do we access your services?

If you want to request mentoring for a young person,
the simple 2-page form is here:

We will also require parental / guardian consent if the young person is under the age of 18. A template letter is available here:

What is the cost?

Our cost per hour is currently £36.00. The cost to us as a charity is double this but we subsidise every hour we deliver by around 50% through grants and donations. We delivered over 2,100 hours of mentoring in the academic year 2014-15.

We offer a 10% discount to certain schools who are willing to arrange rooms for our mentors and reminders to pupils.

“Seldom have I met a group of more dedicated people. I have seen the work of Lifespace turn children’s lives around and I cannot praise them enough.”

Caroline Wilks, St.Benedict’s Catholic High School

“There’s something very special about the approach of Lifespace to what they do.”

Rachel Shackleton, Spurgeon’s Network Manager

“Lifespace is a fantastic organisation operating within my constituency. They should be commended on the progress they have made towards being a self-sustaining charity. Their work clearly transforms the often difficult lives of young people and deserves to be recognised.”

Nadhim Zahawi, MP

“In my role as head teacher for 8 years, I have seen and heard first-hand the difference Lifespace make to young people in distress and difficulty, year after year. Their team of mentors are professional, compassionate and absolutely dedicated to their work with young people. They go the extra mile in the way they serve and I recommend Lifespace without hesitation.”

Paul Wright, (formerly) Head teacher, Henley-in-Arden School

“After a turbulent period at school for my son, with the fantastic support from Lifespace, he has settled really well and made good friends. Socially he is a really different person. Thank you so very much indeed. I would recommend Lifespace to other families in need.”
