Our Young Leaders project grew from our Mission statement which was co-created with young people. They wanted the chance to lead change, be heard and speak up on the issues that affect them.
Anyone under 19 can join us. You don't need to have been supported by a Lifespace Mentor (if you have been, why not consider joining our
Youth Advisory Panel?). We want you to have experiences and opportunities that make it possible for you to take the lead in your own life and as a leader in your peer groups, in your school or college and in your community. This project warmly welcomes rule-breakers as well as rule-makers.
This project was kick-started by work with the amazing
Leaders Unlocked, funded by
Stratford Town Trust, where their young leaders showed us how peer research, asking other young people what they thought, had boosted their own skills and confidence.
The aims of this project are that:
1: Young people have the skills, knowledge and confidence to lead projects, influence change and raise awareness of the issues that affect their wellbeing.
2: Young people know how to find and access the best support available locally and have opportunities to get involved in the development of services for themselves and their peers.
3: Young people want to connect with Lifespace because they know us and trust us.
